The FLAVORx Research Institute is currently working with pediatric obesity specialists and bariatric surgeons to derive a solution to the rise in childhood obesity. Readily available high-calorie and sugar-added food and drinks in combination with less exercise and activity has led to an astronomical jump in cases of overweight and obsese children and adolescents. FRI is committed to working with chemists and researchers to derive a supplement that will provide the nutrients that children need that tastes good without a high caloric intake. .

This sounds like a Godsend

I am a first time Mom and my son is only 4 years old and loves soda (any kind of pop). He is, I feel very much overweight; almost 90 pounds. I try to get him to drink water, milk, juice anything other than carbonated, sugary sodas. I even tried to get him to drink diet soda. I didn't think he would notice the difference, but I was wrong. He hates diet soda he says it's bitter. He has gotten to know the diet soda taste and refuses to drink it even if he doesn't see the can that says DIET on it. He also eats terribly he refuses to eat vegetables and will grab at the donuts, cookies and other sugar filled treats like Hoho's, Twinkies and the like. I try to stear away from buying these items and try to buy fresh fruit and healthy snacks like carrot sticks with dip but he refuses to eat these things. I know he needs to eat but everything he likes is the wrong things. They say fat kids grow up to be fat adults and I am extremely worried that is what is going to happen in Issac's case. I am now seeing that they are selling these high sugar drinks in vending machines in the Middle and High Schools. If there were a drink that tasted good and had the proper nutrients and even if it was carbonated would be better then what these kids are drinking today. Please FLAVORx come up with a good tasting, good for you, low calorie drink that kids could drink and love. I don't want my son to have to undergo this terrible surgery that is described in this article when he gets older because of being severely overweight as an adult. He is even now taking the taunts of youngsters that go to his school that make fun of him because of his being overweight. If this product comes out soon will the general public be made aware or will it only be known through a doctor?
