Taking care of the colon seems to be a popular trend in health these days. While many in the medical and alternative medicine fields are saying that most disease and illness starts in the colon, there has been a huge demand for information on how to clean and care for this vital organ. The job of the colon is to absorb water and minerals as healed as eliminate the waste or feces that is no longer needed by the body. whatsoever say that a healthy colon will produce 2 or 3 bowel movements a day, shortly after eating. Unfortunately many people do not take prissy care of their colons and suffer constipation and illness.

Holistic Health

G Kumar Health is defined by the WHO as 'a state of physical, psychological and social well-being, not merely an absence of diseases or infirmity'. limber adjustment to the changing demands of environment is health and it is not a state. Genuine health is the perfect running of the tripod of Body, Mind & Soul. Holistic healthcare recognizes the effect of sociological, psychological, economic, ecological and even policy-making influences on health. Before 1960, only Allopathic medicine was considered 'scientific' and other native systems, though supported on empirical knowledge, were labelled as 'quackery'. repayable to scramble for 'appropriate technologies', ideas have changed. Interest in Alternative Medicine is on the rise in America and other Western countries. There are more than cardinal systems of secondary Medicine. Ayurveda is being affected deeply. Homeopathy is already being experienced even by Allopathic doctors. Psychotherapy, hypnotism, Yoga Therapy, Yogic Pranayama are vying for their personal place. Everything seems to be inclined towards Holistic medicine in accordance with the concept of holistic health. Physical, mental, vital, intellectual and spiritual - these are the cardinal Levels of Being. For medicine to be holistic, it should be universally applicable, cover complete aspects of health, on all the five levels. embryotic Indian doctors conceived of Holistic medicine on the basis of the Vedantic Five Sheaths - physical body, vital movements, psychological thoughts, intellectual convictions and emotional feelings which cover, as it were, all individual soul. Holistic Health Concept in the Vedas There are many mantras in the Vedas where the goal of medicine is delineate as the removal of the cause of death, conferring of a long span of life, , purification of thoughts and actions, removal of the cause of diseases and ensuring the well-being of body, mind and soul. Indian Holistic Medicine, Ayurveda, which is called a part of the Vedas, is attributed to the sage Bharadwaja ( 5000 BC ) and originated from Atharva Veda ( ' Atharva Vedasu Upanishadsu Pragulpannah ' ). It is said that the Greeks nonheritable a knowledge of Medicine only aft the secrets of Atharva Veda were known to them ( The Neurophysiology of Enlightenment ). This popular & holistic concept of medicare & healthcare was taught equal to foreign students in the Universities of Taxila, Nalanda and Varanasi during AD 500-600. Ayurveda defines health as ' Svasthya ' ( to be one's own Divine Self'). It is a state of equilibrium of the three principles of air ( Vata ), bile (Pitta) and phlegm ( Kapha ), along with a satisfied state of senses, mind and soul. Health, said Charaka, the famous Ayurveda physician ( A D 500-600 ), is an ambidextrous state of Body, Mind & Soul. This was to him a state of 'ease'. unfavourable to this was 'disease'. Ayurveda advocates the following to maintain health and prevent diseases. A daily routine of rising early, exercises, bathing, oil-massage, gargling and regulated sleep. These must be properly coordinated with the Six Rithus, the changing seasons. A value-based life is advocated as a prime necessary for good health. The psychological state of the patient is an important factor in diagnosis and treatment & Ayurveda postulates that the " The doctor who does not find out the inner state of the mind of the patient by the light of his knowledge cannot find out the disease ". Summing up, we cannot overlook the starring factor contributing greatly to holistic health. Righteous Conduct, which is the right Way of live in Rhythm with Natural Law. This rests on the four important values of Truth( Affiliation to the Divine Self, honesty, simplicity etc ), Purity ( which includes a temperate sex-life and the sublimation of sexual energies through divine channels of philanthropy, unselfish service, excellence in all activities etc ), Self-faith ( Faith in one's own heavenly Self, the repository of unequivocal Being, Knowledge and Bliss ) & Fearlessness. ( of even death ) Prakriti Therapy ( Naturopathy ) Naturopathy exists as one of the branches of Holistic Medicine. Holistic Medicine has 2 aspects - The healthful Aspect ( Athura Vritta ) & The protective Aspect ( Swastha Vritta ) Naturopathy is the Prophylactic or the Preventive System. It is based on the principle " Natura Sanat " ( Nature is the Healer and Doctor). As the hominian body is unflustered of the cardinal elements ( Earth, air, water, fire and ether ) so the cardinal Doctors are the Elemental Five! Fasting is the best medicine ( even diseases same ulcer can be cured by fasting ) and this is celebrated as Ether Therapy ( Akashopasana). Sun bathing is Fire Therapy ( Tejopasana). Using Water as a therapeutic element is Water Therapy ( Jalopasana). Letting the body get fresh pure air is aerial Therapy ( Vayu Upasana) and eating pure fruits and vegetables is Earth Therapy ( Prithvi Upasana ) Naturopathy means returning to Nature and live in rhythm with Nature, who is infinite in her wisdom! Even Allopathic scholars have admitted " Medicus curata, natura Sanat"( The physician only treats but it is Nature that heals ) He who eats once is a great Yogi ( heavenly Man ) He who eats twice is a great Bhogi ( physical gratifier) He who eats thrice is a great Rogi ( one plagued by illhealth ) He who eats 4 times is a great Drohi ( one who torments all ) The cardinal major planets correspond to the basic Five thus Jupiter Ether Mars Fire Saturn Air Mercury Earth Venus Water No wonder in the Pythagorean system, the number five was given such big importance! Medical astrologers prescribe Ether Therapy if Jupiter is weak and Fire Therapy if Mars is weak etc. By means of the Great Art, health can be restored in the patient ! About The Author

Colloidal Silver - Time For a Comeback?

Levi Bloom I'm doomed you know what it's like to be sick. Stuffy head, moving nose, sore throat, coughing, fever, and maybe even vomiting. It really sucks. And with the overuse of prescription antibiotics, you can't be sure if they will even help next time around. So it's time now to test down some alternative medicine that was actually used commonly before 1938. This product is colloidal silver, which is simply silver particles suspended in pure water. articulate was pretty best-selling back in the early 1900's, but it was fairly expensive to make. It slowly faded into the background once much "financially lucrative" drugs came out. Here's a little info from a couple decades ago: The March 1978 issue of Science Digest, in the article, "Our Mightiest Germ Fighter," reported: "Thanks to eye-opening research, silver is emerging as a wonder of new medicine. An antibiotic kills perhaps a half-dozen diametric disease organisms, but silver kills whatsoever 650. insusceptible strains fail to develop. Moreover, silver is virtually non-toxic." From what I've heard, it sounds like the articulate binds to an enzyme in these single-cell organisms, and then the organism can no longer use oxygen, so it dies. You get the picture. The cool thing is, while the silver destroys these pathogens, it does not harm the cells in the surrounding body tissues. It's harmless for humans, animals, and plants! And you do not develop a resistance to it like with opposite antibiotics. Feel free to use it for nasal drops or put it directly on cuts or burns. It's even supposed to fight athlete's foot! I started using it last year (2003) and have had pretty good luck. Even though I'm in college and live in a dormitory, I haven't been tubercular for more than a few days and never was I sick sufficient to have to stay in bed more than usual. Whenever my mom first told me to take it, I same it was worthless, but I have since changed my mind. If you want to try it out, I suggest you buy it from LifeForce International. Some opposite sources are quite inferior. If you're feeling sick, the sooner you try it the better! Article not evaluated by the FDA.  Some statements are just the opinion of the author and should not be old as a secondary for qualified medical advice. There are no guarantees that it will work for you. About The Author

Your Health Is Your Yours!

P. Sidney Parker Your health and wellness are your business and yours to manage! You are, or at least you should be, your personal primary health provider! Not single do I believe whole heartedly in these two statements, they are the basis of my philosophy of own being. I encourage my clients to think in these terms while embracing the concepts of Alternative medicine and holistic health. No one is much affected by your health than you are! This is one of those "no brainers" that get overlooked when dealing with a complex issue. Sort of a reversal of "not being able to see the forest because the trees are in the way". In this case we can not see some of the solutions because the problems seem to be so overwhelming. Today's society encourages us to expect instant self-activating solutions to our problems. The "press this button", or "take this pill approach" to life! We have come to expect that regardless of what we "allow" to happen to ourselves, there is whatsoever wonder miracle drug that will cure it. Part of the problem is we are no longer supposed to be obligated for the consequences of our actions! Several years past McDonald's was sued for causing people to get fat. Think about that for a moment. I consumed much calories than I burn, so I gain weight. But it is not my fault, its yours because you provided me with the food! Maybe it's just me (I don't think so), but this sounds too untold like not acceptive the consequence of own action. The "McDonald's made me fat" suit is just a highlighted example of what is becoming much and more current in our society. I think we should get a class action suit going against the medical industry for not finding a cure for the cold or cancer. They know there's a problem but haven't given us a solution yet! Okay I admit that is a bit far fetched, but maybe not far off in the future! The bottom line is we must take more responsibility for what happens to us. More responsibility for what goes into our bodies. Gain more perceptive of what it is our bodies need. Take much notice of what our body is doing, or is not doing. Your personal physician or healthcare provider can not provide you with all of the answers. Most of the answers come from your body, learn to listen to it and understand it! Let your doctor become your health care assistant! About The Author

Laughter and your health

John Ryan Jokes and humor for your health When thinking about secondary medicine, most people picture plants, crystals, needles, maybe whatsoever bugs and leeches, but few realize that jokes, humor and comedy are truly medicines, in their own right. It has daylong been established that optimists live longer than pessimists, but now there is some hard evidence that people with a better sense of humor also have longer and healthier lives. Your "stay healthy" plan should include a joke and a 20-minute comedy show, to go with the broccoli and carrots. There are now various associations and physicians technical in the questionable therapeutic humor, who are still investigating the roles of laughter in our lives. Perhaps the most obvious of these roles is that related to the social life - jokes often allow people to connect and to bond, and joint a good laughter is a good method to integrate in a team, to get along with the coworkers, neighbors and so on. This function is vital from the point of view of psychological health, since it reduces loneliness and, with it, depression and other problems associated with it. You don't have to be drilled in stand-up comedy in order to say something funny, sometimes all you need is a change of perspective or the courage to make entertaining at your personal expense. Humor is an invaluable asset in crisis situations, when it helps us calm falling and reduce the levels of stress (and all the negative effects stress has on health). It is often considered that, among patients with precise severe diseases, those with an optimistic approach, who are capable of making jokes about their situations, have the best chances to defeat the illness. So far, there have been no scientific studies to prove this, but the patients themselves report feeling healthier after joining an activity with seriocomic potential, even if it's just watching a comedy show together with whatsoever friends or with other patients. Recent researches suggest that laughter influences much than our psychological framework, it actually has a constructive effect on the physical aspect as well. It has been widely accepted, for some time, that laughter increases the pain resistance level, but the theory is standing not proven. In fact, very hardly a studies have yet been made active the relation between comedy and health, but those present seem to indicate that a good joke may lower the blood pressure, improve memory and cognitive functions and boost the exempt system. Moreover, these results are not short-term only: it seems that a good sense of humor may protect you against heart diseases and alter your biochemical state to a equal where the organism produces more antibodies. The lack of research in the field is repayable to the fact that people have always assumed that laughter is good for your health (along with an apple a day and a breath of fresh air), but little has been done to analyze this in depth. There is also a "bad" humor (same as there is good cholesterol and distressing cholesterol). This category includes the approach that makes people feel miserable active themselves, or angry, upset and vengeful, as well as the skeptic and cynic attitude, which is often the front for wakeless depression and indifference. Jokes directed at other people are also "bad" humor, along with ethnic, racial and discriminatory jokes, which are born out of frustration, not down of optimism and cheerfulness. Also, people who often make fun of themselves hide a contrabass self esteem, which is only worse with every questionable joke they invent (there is a good reason why clowns and boffo comedy actors are often perceived as sad and low in their realistic lives). If you decide to use laughter as a therapeutic method, the first obvious issue is that there are no calumniatory side effects, and you've got nothing to lose. The second issue is that you can actually improve your sense of humor in time, unvarying as any opposite skill or ability, by constant training and exposure to jokes and comedy. Next time you go to the movies, buy a ticket for a comedy, no matter how dumb the poster looks. When you read the paper, don't forget to check down their daily cartoon too. Spend cardinal minutes every day reading jokes, and, when you find some you like, share them with your friends. (And when your superior catches you reading jokes instead of working, tell him it's just therapy, he can't stop your from attractive your medication at work, right?) penultimate but not least, try to find the funny broadside of the miniscule things that happen every day around you - there is always something absurd or solid-coloured stupid going on right near you, which may provide five minutes of good laugher, which, in turn, may unblock some arteries and keep the heart attack uttermost away. 3 Quick Herbal Remedies

In recent years the issue of Alternative Healing has skyrocketed to the forefront of the medical field. A 2004 government survey concluded that more than cardinal ordinal of adults use alternative medicine and healing. One facet of this burgeoning interest is Herbal Medicine. While it may seem "trendy" to some, Herbal Medicine has been around for thousands of years. Drugs like opium (from poppies), aspirin (from willow bark), digitalis (from foxglove) and quinine (from the

Grains that cause celiac disease

Eating grain products - breads, cakes, cereals - have long been consider a healthy choice. If you look at the RDA recommendations, grains, at the bottom of the pyramid, are what you should be eating the most of to maintain a well-preserved body. The RDA's recommendations do not consider some food to be harmful for you. You must remember that the RDA's recommendations come from a government agency and indicating a particular food could be harmful to your health could financially affect that industry. The government does not want to destroy some industry even if it is calumniatory to your health. Just look at the smoking industry. It's still alive.
