Managing Anxiety - Anxiety & Panic

Is there really a way to manage your anxiety? The answer is yes. I know of many little nick knacks that can lessen the severity and reduce the amount of attacks and decrease how often they happen. But honestly do you really want to learn to “manage” your attacks? I’ve got to ask why anyone would want to learn to “manage” their anxiety when there is a way to eliminate them for GOOD! Is it because some sufferers are afraid of such a change? I guess if you’ve been live with it for 20+ years you might fear change. Or maybe it’s because you don’t truly “believe” there really is a way to eliminate anxiety and panic disorder for good! And probably the most worrisome and debilitating thought you can get cragfast with would be “mine is diametric to everyone else’s, it won’t go away”.

Skipped Beats - Anxiety & Panic

Some people also describe this feeling as a fast pause as if the heart stops then one full-size mighty thump. Or as if the heart forgot to beat for a second. Some people do find this sensation to be a little frightening. A question I am asked a lot is “I get a lot of skipped beats do many other people get this?” The answer is YES! Even people who do not suffer from anxiety and panic often report a sensation of a “skipped beat”. Now of course I am not a doctor, however… When I wore a 24 hour Holter monitor I did record in my diary a feeling of a skipped beat a few times. And for every time I recorded feeling a “skipped beat” it coincided with an “ectopic heart beat”.

Cetyl Myristoleate for Arthrtis: Science or Speculation

Rusty Ford There are a lot of fabulous stories about Cetyl Myristoleate (also known as CMO or CM) floating across the Internet. Mine is one of them. There have been a number of articles published in little known journals or magazines. There have been cardinal small booklets published. One making fantastic claims, complete four filled with anecdotal evidence but offering no realistic research to rearmost up the claims. There are a number of Doctors sharing the results they are having with their patients but so does every other wonder-working product. The question is, are there any technological studies to rearmost up any of these claims? The answer is yes. To date there are several patient studies and two large blind studies completed. I will mention the cardinal most prominent below. Dr Len Sands of the San Diego Clinic complete the first hominian study on the effectiveness on Cetyl Myristoleate in 1995. There were 48 arthritis patients in this study. All but cardinal showed significant improvement in articular mobility (80% or better) and reduction of pain (70% or better). Obviously the study had its flaws. One doctor conducted the study, there was no control group and the number of participants was small. Even so, it suggested to galore that maybe there was some hope here and that more scientific studies should follow. The first double dim-sighted study followed cardinal years later. Dr. H. Siemandi conducted a double dim-sighted study under the auspices of the Joint European Hospital Studies Program. There were 431 patients in the study, 106 who received cetyl myristoleate, 99 who acceptable cetyl myristoleate, and glucosamine, sea cucumber, and hydrolyzed cartilage and 226 who received a placebo. Clinical assessment enclosed radiological test and other studies. Results were 63% improvement for the cetyl myristoleate group, 87% for the cetyl myristoleate plus glucosamine group and 15% for the placebo group. In August of 2002, a double dim-sighted study was publicized in the Journal or Rheumatology. The study enclosed sixty-four patients with chronic knee OA. Half of the patients received a cetyl myristoleate involved and half a placebo. Evaluations enclosed physician assessment, knee range of motion with goniometry, and the Lequesne Algofunctional Index (LAI). The conclusion was that the CM group saw significant improvement while the placebo group saw infinitesimal to none. In fact in their conclusion the state that CM “may be an secondary to the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for the treatment of OA”. Advanced Medical Systems & Design, Ltd completed the penultimate study I would like to mention in Oct 2001. It was not a large blind study but the study enclosed 1814 arthritis patients. The results showed that over 87% of the subjects had greater than 50% recovery and over 65% of those showed from 75% - 100% recovery following a sixteen day regimen. I know that this is not the most technological study but a study this life-sized does suggest that there could be a positive benefit to the use of CM in the treatment of arthritis. Conclusion: There is mounting evidence that CM can be hard-hitting in the treatment of many forms of arthritis. While it is genuine that the evidence from these cardinal studies can not be considered conclusive, it is a beginning. It should challenge you to think out broadside the box and consider that retributory because it did not come from a drug company does not nasty that it will not work. With over 10,000 people a year dying from Nsaids would it not be great to find a safer and more hard-hitting product. Especially with the cost of prescription treatments for arthritis costing into the hundreds and good Cetyl Myristoleate products can be found for between $20 and $40. About The Author

Buying Fitness Equipment On eBay: Deals or Duds?

Jane Simms With tens of millions of registered members and more than 12,000 items listed, eBay is, without a doubt, the world's largest Internet marketplace. And you can buy retributory about anything there--from CDs, movies and vitamins to archetypical edition books, spic-and-span businesses and equal someone's last breath of air. But--what you want to know--is it the place to shop for fitness equipment? The answer is yes, but that’s if you don’t mind sifting and, in most cases, bidding. On a given day in June 2003, there were 1,026,771 items listed under the “Sports” category; and there were 344,705 items in the "Sporting Goods" subcategory, which is imperfect down into much than three-dozen subcategories. Under "Exercise & Fitness," a “Sporting Goods” subcategory, there were 7,146 items. And that subcategory is divided up into six subcategories. Hope you’re not too confused. On that given June day, I took a look at several fitness products sold on eBay. I wanted to find out how low prices on new (never been used) popular or quality products go on this mega auction site. The good news: They can go beautiful low. One product I examined was Total Trainer, and there are single models listed on eBay. I zeroed in on the 3000 model, which is supposed to be comparable to the Brinkley- and Norris- endorsed whole Gym 3000. On eBay, Total Trainer is offered in two pricing formats: Name your personal or Buy It Now (skip the auction process) for $277. Off eBay, Total Gym retails for, on average, $500. I also compared a few other infomercial-marketed products. One, a knock-off of the Fast Abs bodybuilding belt, an electronic muscle stimulation device, runs for active $10 to $15 on eBay (with free shipping). disconnected eBay, the realistic product will cost you around $30, plus shipping/handling. Another, Smart ABS, is priced at $50 on eBay; off, it ranges between $70 and $80. A third product is a Fitness Quest glider related to the Tony Little Gazelle Freestyle Elite. Buy it on eBay and you’ll pay roughly $220, almost fractional of what you would spend at Little’s official site. The last product I checked down was Jolie Weights, one-pound attachable fitness shoe weights introduced this spring by Jolie World. At JolieWeights.com, these weights cost $19.99. An independent eBay seller was auctioning them for $14.99. That’s a 25 percent savings. Plus, shipping/handling charges are exactly the same. The bottom line is: You will find some good deals on eBay. But there are a good number of duds there too. The best advice? Do your research before buying. Compare prices; read the fine print; ask the seller whether it’s a interrupted or irregular product; and be alert of bloated shipping/handling charges (a usual practice among eBay sellers). A closing tip: before buying anything, read the seller’s reviews, where buyers post their positive or unfavourable shopping experiences. If the eBay seller has too galore negatives, then you may want to pass on the deal. If the seller seems legitimate, and you’ve unchangeable it’s a steal, jump on it. The price--the product-- may be absent tomorrow. About The Author

Should You Be Taking Liquid Vitamins?

Levi Bloom How galore pills do you have to take every morning? Lots of multivitamins in there? For most people the answer is yes, considering there are more multivitamins sold than Prozac or Viagra! I think my mom old to take at least five or six vitamins. I don’t know about you, but I think that sounds like a big hassle, and I don’t have time for it. The thing is, vitamins and minerals are necessary. You can get most of your nutrients from eating a balanced diet which includes lots of fruits and vegetables, but you can’t get everything. That’s where vitamins come in. You may be wondering, “Why do I actually need vitamins and minerals?” Let me tell you about the cohesive States Senate Document #264 from way back in 1936. The main point of the document is that the soil in developed countries, especially North America, has been nearly depleted of complete important minerals. And this was in 1936! Thank about how bad it is now. We should be getting minerals from the foods we eat, but we aren’t. (Don’t worry, the end of the article has a solution.) To quote directly from the document, “The forbidding fact is that foods, fruits and vegetables and grains, now being adorned on millions of acres of overland that no longer contain enough of certain needed minerals, are starving us - no matter how much of them we eat!” One mineral you’re probably familiar with is calcium. We need that for our bones. And since cycling is not a weight bearing sport, we need unnecessary calcium. Calcium does more than build strong bones, however. Read this absorbing selection from the document for much detail: “A cage overflowing of normal rats will live in amity. Restrict their calcium and they will become ill-natured and draw unconnected from one another. Then they will begin to fight. Restore their calcium balance and they will grow much friendly; in time they will begin to sleep in a pile as before.” Now we come to another influential question: Do you have a dangerous mineral deficiency? For example, if you are deficient in selenium, you could experience an unsteady heart beat, infertility, or muscular dystrophy. A deficiency in tin could lead to masculine pattern baldness. And a lack of lithium could cause reproductive failure. Yikes! (By the way, the product I’m going to tell you active contains all the macro and trace minerals known to man!) Hopefully you now realize the importance of vitamins and minerals in your diet. But you probably know how annoying it is to take pills. Well, what about semiliquid vitamins? First off, let’s talk about absorption rates. In pill form, single 10-20% of the vitamins are absorbed. However, in liquid form, 98% are absorbed. (Think of attractive pills as flushing 80-90% of your money down the toilet!) (1996 Physicians Desk Reference, p. 1542) Along with actually working, semiliquid vitamins are simple to use. Just take a few sips, stylish it around in your mouth, and swallow. That’s it. Personally, I hate swallowing pills. I know whatsoever people who couldn’t swallow a pill to save their life. And I know people who pass pills through their system without breaking them down at all. However, everyone I know can swallow a liquid. Not too long ago, Centrum actually came out with a liquid multivitamin because they could see the potential in this market. However, it is simply a multivitamin in liquid form. Wait…isn’t that what we wanted? Well, yes. But there is something equal better. Remember how I said it would be a good idea to get your nutrients from actual whole food? Now there’s a way to do that, but with a liquid. That way is with a product celebrated as Body Balance. By attractive it, you’re getting organic vitamins and minerals derived from live plants. Specifically, from plain deep sea vegetation. Richard Mitchell The hair loss industry is not cardinal that inspires big confidence in most people. I have to admit this is perfectly comprehendible given the damage caused by the many rogues and charlatans who have abused the trust of far too many vulnerable people - people who have received meritless and even mordacious products or advice in exchange for their hard attained cash.
