Asbestos is ready-made up of cardinal naturally occurring minerals that can be woven into fibers and are old in manufacturing and industrial applications because of its heat resistance. For example, brake pads can be made with asbestos. If it appears in nature, is it mordacious to me? Asbestos occurs in nature. Everyone breathes asbestos during the day, as part of the variety of things that make up the aerial we breathe, but it is a very, very miniscule amount. As well, asbestos can appear in water, but again, in very, very small amounts. In small amounts it is not dangerous. At greater levels though, it is more dangerous. It can either cause scar tissue to build up around the lungs and it has been found to be a carcinogen, potentially causing cancer if people are exposed to higher levels of it.

Pleural mesothelioma is a rare type of cancer. This cancer affects the pleural sac that surrounds the lungs and is caused by exposure to asbestos. The pleural sac contains the lungs and also a small membrane titled the mesothelium. The mesothelium secretes a fluid that allows the lungs to contract and expand during breathing. The inhalation of asbestos causes a build-up of asbestos fibers inner the lungs. Due to the microscopic size and sharpness of these fibers it’s viable for them to penetrate the walls of the lung and enter the pleural cavity. As these fibers travel from the lung into the pleural cavity, the sharp strands shred and mutilate the mesothelium potentially destroying it and causing cancer.

On average 3,000 adults die per year as a result of accidentally inhaling and choking on food. When food gets cragfast in your throat, it blocks your trachea making it very difficult to breathe. Because the airway is blocked, it may take less than a minute to die after the food is consumed. It is important to act fast in these situations and a slight hesitation could mean the difference between live and dying. The Heimlich maneuver is a standard component of all archetypical aid courses and is an hard-hitting technique which complete individuals should learn. When someone is choking the Heimlich maneuver is performed to dislodge the obstruction which is blocking the trachea. By compressing the abdomen retributory below the equal of the diaphragm, the air is forced out of the lungs removing the obstruction which was blocking the air flow. At this point, the material which was blocking the trachea will be brought back up into the mouth.

Cigarette smokers are at danger of more than nicotine when they smoke. Tobacco smoke contains many different chemicals including benzene, formaldehyde, styrene, and carbon monoxide, all cyanogenetic chemicals with celebrated effects. Nicotine is broken down by the body to an even much addictive and daylong lasting substance – cotinine. But what about the filters? The filters are usually made from cellulose acetate, and studies have shown that smokers commonly ingest and/or inhale some of these fibres. This happens because small fragments of cellulose acetate become separated from the filter at the end face. The cut shallow of the filter of nearly complete cigarettes has these fragments. This means that if you smoke a filter cigarette you are likely to have small fragments of plastic-like material in your tubes and lungs.
